The Gantry

Found in the fashionable London area of Stratford, The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton is a destination hotel that offers much more than a place to stay. As well as luxurious guest rooms, The Gantry combines socialising and entertainment with dining and drinking venues all in one location. Celebrating all things creative and cultural, artworks from the hip Jealous Gallery in Shoreditch are heavily featured in the décor of the hotel.

The Gantry boasts an enviable location situated within the iconic Westfield shopping district, attracting visitors from all across the UK and internationally, providing direct access to everything the capital city has to offer, while being a haven when wanting to leave the busy streets behind. To create the desired atmosphere and ambience within the hotel, Elektra Lighting were commissioned to create a lighting scheme for a number of areas. These included the reception, the Union Social restaurant bar, terrace and the external façade, all with a vision to create soft, subtle and ambient hues through lighting.

Housed on the first floor of the hotel, Union Social is the venue’s main dining locale, with glorious floor to ceiling wraparound windows and a stunning terrace. To fulfil elements of the lighting design in Union Social, Elektra Lighting specified a range of lighting solutions from lighting expert manufacturer LEDFlex. The EcoFlex 120, a high efficiency linear lighting solution with a colour temperature of 2700K, has been used extensively in the space to illuminate shelving in both the bar and restaurant areas. It also provides a gentle source of light behind the banquette seating. On the ground floor, LEDFlex’s EcoFlex 120 also highlights a number of metal mesh screens.

Elsewhere on the first floor, LEDFlex’s Micro Neon SV 2700K has been chosen as task lighting in the front of Union Social’s bar counters. The solution also creates a halo effect around columns in the bar, and adds illumination to a frosted screen located in the main bar. In addition, the Micro Neon SV provides a gentle radiance under the banquette seating in the main lounge. Elektra Lighting, having specified LEDFlex and their bespoke range of lighting solutions, were able to create the subtle and serene lighting scheme that undoubtedly adds to the exclusive yet welcoming feeling of The Gantry, further cementing its place within London’s exuberant hospitality scene.
