Following celebrated openings in London and Manchester, Sexy Fish arrives in Dubai’s DIFC with the same hallmark opulence—now reimagined for a new climate and context. For this third location, 18Fifty once again collaborated with LEDFlex to deliver immersive, detail-driven lighting that reinforces the brand’s theatrical aesthetic while responding to regional demands. 

The lighting narrative begins at the threshold. Ultimo Neon 10 SV—an IP68-rated, silicone-encapsulated solution—outlines the sculptural entrance canopy, establishing a clean visual edge. This line continues indoors, embedded within the reception station beneath the dramatic octopus installation, ensuring material and visual continuity across the transition.

Within the main space, lighting guides and elevates the guest experience. The iconic mermaid sculpture leads visitors to the central bar, where Optico Neon 23 3D—custom-engineered for high-temperature environments—grazes the curved stone bar from below. With its precise beam control and flexible 3D geometry, the fixture ensures uniform luminance across the complex surface, a design signature consistent across all Sexy Fish locations.

Ultimo Neon 16 SV is deployed for bar task lighting, selected for its high lumen output and smooth diffusion—ensuring both function and finish are uncompromised. For added material clarity, Lumen Line, LEDFlex’s high-CRI linear light engine, is integrated as a bar downlight to accentuate the texture and colour fidelity of the natural stone surfaces.

Nano Flex—LEDFlex’s ultra-slim 4mm linear solution—is recessed into kitchen screens and shelving joinery behind the bar for subtle highlights that support depth and rhythm within the visual field. This restrained integration reinforces contrast and spatial hierarchy without visual clutter.

In dining and VIP zones, Ultimo Neon 22 is embedded within ceiling coffers, offering refined ambient light with flawless diffusion. Its form factor and performance characteristics allow it to adapt seamlessly to architectural geometries while maintaining consistency in output.
