The Project

The iconic Nieuwe Kerk in Zierikzee, Netherlands has been revitalised with a stunning new lighting design. This 19th-century neo-classical landmark, nestled in the heart of the city square, now shines with renewed brilliance, enhancing its historic elegance. In collaboration with Jans Lighting Design and Lumen Solutions B.V., LEDFlex’s premium linear lighting solutions seamlessly blend modern technology with timeless architecture that honours the church’s cultural significance.

Warm white tones from LEDFlex’s Ultimo Neon 16, an IP68 silicone-encapsulated solution, bathe the tower in a soft yet striking glow, accentuating the intricacy of its grand columns, pediments, and arched windows. The even illumination creates a flawless balance of light and shadow, preserving the historic charm of the façade while offering a contemporary elegance, highlighting every detail, from the subtle textures of the stonework to the symmetry of the architectural elements.

By night, the Nieuwe Kerk becomes the crown jewel of Zierikzee’s skyline, captivating residents and visitors with its luminous splendour. LEDFlex’s cutting-edge solutions deliver both unparalleled energy efficiency and striking illumination, ensuring that the church remains a symbol of innovation as much as history for generations to come.
