Marriott County Hall Hotel

One of London's most iconic and uniquely refurbished landmarks, the County Hall Hotel is housed in County Hall, the over-a-decade old Grade II* listed building. Originally built to house the London County Council's large workforce, this incredible building, though stands strong today, was almost never built as delays occurred due to excavation in 1909, and again when the building was destroyed by six bombs when World War I took place

The luxury London Marriott County Hall Hotel opened on 6th July 1998 and is located in the over-a-decade old London County. In 2016, the famous hotel had a complete renovation and combined modern technologies without compromising the historical hotel's character. From the exclusively created wallpapers adorning bowler hats echoing London culture and orange armchairs representing the seats from the old London County Council – the Marriott County Hall Hotel offers everything and spares nothing.

The Noes Lobby Champagne bar, reception, and all guestrooms, which was designed by Elektra Lighting, were all included in the refurbishment.
The lobby provides the ideal space to meet up with friends or colleagues in the heart of London and guests can relax with a selection of pastries and beverages. Our Maxi Neon from the Neon range was inserted into the underskirts of the countertop, matching the glistening gold mesh dangling above, in order to highlight the champagne bar as the centerpiece of the lobby. Guests can begin their memorable stay at the hotel with a stress-free check-in at the hotel reception and after that, from the comfort of the most spacious guest rooms in the city, they can admire an impressive panoramic view of London under the ambience of our Maxi Neon.

The designers requested a reliable yet cost-effective luminaire which could be formed into a circle to envision a continuous light band that does not lose light at the connection points. The Maxi Neon was the ideal choice as it is the workhorse of the Neon range, combining high output LED chips with a width of 11.5mm. It provides high lumen output at a reasonable wattage, which makes it a great fit for most applications.

The Noes Lobby Champagne Bar is one of the 2017 entries in the 'Restaurant or Bar in a heritage building' category for the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.
