LEDFlex adds lighting flair to the story telling narrative of Formula 1; the king of global motor sport. Race car enthusiasts are welcomed to the first international exhibition dedicated to the thrilling pastime of Formula 1 racing. Located in central Spain for its inaugural showing. IFEMA, Madrid provides a temporary home to all the legendary tales and achievements of this most extraordinary discipline.

Renowned lighting design practice, Michael Grubb Studio were appointed to specify the lighting elements including products from LEDFlex’s most popular range, Ultimo Neon in RGBW, used on the special interior design feature element named the ‘Racing Line’. Ultimo Neon 16 was supplied in set lengths to give the appearance of a continuous line of light in a channel constructed from laser-cut 3mm steel plate, with a series of letter cutouts including evocative words such as 'brake' and 'turn in.' The luminaire is suspended above the ceiling of the 'Pit Wall' room, resulting in a dramatic lighting effect that immerses fans as they relive the greatest moments in F1 history.

Giving a truly experiential day out, the rich history of this glamourous sport can also be relieved through the extensive film archives available for viewing pleasure as well as the information boards and sound references punctuated throughout the customer journey.  Guests are encouraged to transport themselves through the six exhibition rooms in this 90-minute tour of racing history and truly feel part of the action.
